Arts Council Masquerade Ball
Saturday night the Municipal Building was transformed
into a festive, lively gallery of art décor. The guests were
decked out in their finest, tuxedos for the guys and beautiful dresses
for the gals. There were beautiful murals on the walls and the water
color works of Kelli Just, a student at Tabor College, Hillsboro
were on display through out the auditorium. She was the first premier
artist chosen by the Junction City Arts Council. Charles Volland
was recognized for his long time commitment to the arts in Junction
City. In addition, the Junction City Arts Council’s new logo
was unveiled. The evening had a carnival theme with stilt walkers,
fire breathing dragons and live music. Wonderful hor devours of
all tastes were shared by all.
This event was the first of what hopefully will
become an annual event celebrating the arts in our community. Great
big thanks to Art Council Director Gail Parsons and her staff from
the Art Gallery for their efforts in making this event happen. Thanks
also to the Junction City Arts Council Board of Directors and all
of the volunteers who made the event special. The arts are alive
and well in Junction City.
