Good News
This month Lt. Phil Waters retired from the Police
Department. Lt. Waters had worked for the City of Junction City
for 32 years. Most recently, he worked in the administrative side
of the house, managing the fleet of vehicles and maintenance of
the building at the Police Department. We wish Phil the best of
luck in his retirement.
We also were notified this week that the roundabout
on South Washington won an award from the Kansas Concrete Association.
We will be accepting the award in January at their annual meeting.
The Junction City Arts Council hosted a highly successful “Red
Hot & Blue” Christmas concert recently. Over 400 people
attended the event in the Municipal Building. The Arts Council has
become a major cultural activity in our community. Thanks to the
direction of Gail Parsons and her board, the arts are thriving in
our community. The Gallery is hosting a wonderful exhibit of Flint
Hills photography by Jim Richardson. His photographs appeared in
National Geographic Magazine earlier this year. Stop by and take
advantage of seeing this outstanding display of photographs.
