Give Crime & Drugs A Going Away Party! Saturday, August 1st, 2009, National Night Out Against Crime was held in Junction City. The celebration was held at Spin City, in Junction City, and started about 3:30 PM. The Community Involvement Unit coordinated the celebration for the City. There were many activities and demonstrations. Everyone was allowed free entry to Spin City and Miniature Golf. Other activities included Inflatable games, Water Wars, and demonstrations from the K-9, T.R.U. Team, Geary County EMS and Junction City Fire Department. Free food and drinks were offered and the evening closed out with on outdoor movie. |

| National Night Out is designed to: 1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) Generate support for and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; 3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and 4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. | |
