Welcome to the Dispatch/911 Emergency Communications Center. This is the emergency answering point for all 911 calls made in the Junction City/Geary County area, including cellular phone calls. We have four (4) dispatch positions in the Center, all of which are computer based and set up in the same manner so that every position has all the same capabilities. The Center is manned by a minimum of two dispatchers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Center is responsible for the answering of the emergency 911 calls as well as the dispatching of services for ten (10) different emergency service agencies. Some of these agencies are: the Junction City Police Department, the Junction City Fire Department, the City/County Ambulance Service, and the Grandview Plaza Police Department. We also have direct communication with the Fort Riley Military Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers assigned to our jurisdiction .
During the past year we answered approximately 6,500 telephone calls for emergency 911 services. This being done while also providing dispatch communication support for the emergency services personnel working on the street, such as: police officers, sheriff deputies, fire fighters, and ambulance/EMS personnel. They do an excellent job and are proud to be the person called upon in the event of an emergency. The Dispatch Center has an authorized strength of twelve(12) personnel under the Supervision of Captain Dan Breci.
