Buffalo Soldier Memorial Park

This is a picture of Junction City’s second newest park. The Buffalo Soldier Memorial was completed in 2000, after ten years of fundraising raised over $400,000. This park celebrates the relationship between the 8^th and 9^th Buffalo Soldier units that were stationed at Fort Riley and the city of Junction City. This park is located close to the Buffalo Soldiers old quarters and is a site where many of their children played in the early 20^th Century. This is an awe-inspiring site and a must-see for any history lover or children that enjoy playing on swings and slides.
