SERVICE/ WORKFORCE CENTER Serves as comprehensive manpower services center to bring workers and jobs together, with emphasis on job placement. A community/state-wide clearinghouse which receives job orders from employers, disseminates current job orders on computer terminals/printouts and coordinates referral of persons to jobs. Offers employment assistance to job applicants without charging any fees, utilizing self-service, limited counseling or intensive counseling approaches to refer persons to job openings or to employability development opportunities such as work experience or job training and supplementary training. Can also receive information for application for unemployment from this office. JUNCTION
CITY ARTS COUNCIL Director: Gail Parsons The Junction City Arts Council (JCAC) is a vital cultural center of the community, encouraging exploration and expression, supporting individaul growth for all ages, bridging cultural differences and enhancing our quality of life. JCAC provides community concerts, classes for all ages and interests, programs and events for youth, performances, concerts, exhibits, partnerships throughout the community, volunteer opportunities supporting the arts and scholarships for Junction City students. City/Geary County Military Affairs Council
To Top The MAC office serves as a liaison in matters relating to the military in Junction City and Geary County. We offer events that build rapport with military commanders and facilitate business development between the military and local companies. The MAC provides helpful day-to-day information, from lobbying for legislative support on issues that affect our military, to offering assistance in the transition of military and federal employees in finding homes, jobs and more. CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY To Top The Housing Authority provides safe, decent and sanitary housing for elderly and low to moderate income families residing in Junction City. Eligibility is based on Annual Income Limits and Federal Preferences as described by the Housing Authority in accordance with regulations mandated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Founded in late 1949 for the purpose of entertainment and performing art productions, as well as summer workshop for children. Provides an annual scholarship. Newcomers welcome.
The JC Speech and Language Clinic provides evaluations, therapy and consultations for speech, language and swallowing disorders, on a private basis. Through the clinic, nursing health and Geary Community Hospital.
Preventive and primary health care services for all teens, ages 10 – 18 yrs., enrolled in U.S.D. 475 or have a Geary County address.
