Keep
records of receipts and expenditures of county accounts; keeps papers
to the Board of County Commissioners. Maintains Tax Roll and annual
inventory of county property. Handles all claims against county
and prepares county warrants. Issues permits for movement on public
roads, hunting and fishing licenses. Acts as Election Commission.

This
is a federal organization divided into regions, states, counties
and other political sub divisions. Its purposes are to train, coordinate
and protect against disasters or hazardous material, by organization
of these units for support, to operate trained personnel in the
management or work functions with which the personnel are familiar.

GEARY COUNTY FAMILY RESEARCHERS
Family researchers is a separate group under the auspices of the
Geary County Historical Society. Its purpose is to preserve genealogical
records, collect family records, aid individuals in their study,
and to receive and hold gifts to be used in genealogical research.
Volunteers from the organization are available for genealogy research
for a nominal fee.
Membership
is open to any interested individual. Members need not belong to
the Historical Society.

The
museum, located in historic former high school building, opened
in May 1983. It features changing displays on community life, Indian
artifacts, historic photo collection, research room with volunteer
staff, gift shop featuring handcrafted items. Guided tours are available
on special request. Special programs and demonstrations presented
periodically. Weekly newspaper column on area history and museum
activities.

the parents of a child between the ages of birth and three, Infant-Toddler
Services can offer information about how our infant or toddler is
growing and developing compared to other children. Special services
are available if your child shows a delay. This includes speech
therapy, physical therapy, special instruction, occupational therapy
and other services.

or children with special needs.

Girl Scouts provide informal education to girls ages 5-17 in the
arts, science and technology, intercultural understand, health and
well-being and the outdoors.

a therapeutic enviroment for disabled and aging adults with 24-hour
licensed nursing care. The plan of care for each resident is developed
to meet the physical and psycho-social needs by the following the
physician orders which include: medications, treatments, diets,
physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, activities
and social services. The facility is a 60 bed Christian affiliated
home. The goal is to provide care to insure each resident’s
maximum potential for independence. Medicare Certified.
