Person-centered
educational and therapeutic services for children with physical
disabilities including assistive technology, professional and family
training, recreation, early intervention, and pediatric therapy.
Services are offered on and off site. Service options include assessment,
individualized program development, equipment loan bank, consultation
and short term placement in the following areas: augmentative communication,
educational technology, positioning, mobility, seating, computer
access and rehabilitation engineering.

Is
a non-profit corporation formed for the purpose of providing alcohol
and other drug related services. The services include: Individual
and Family counseling for adults and adolescents, outpatient treatment,
intervention, assessment and referral services, support groups,
employees assistance, and prevention. The Foundation is supported
by the United Way, local liquor taxes, grants and client fees. Fees
are based on the client’s ability to pay.

purpose of the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of KS Inc. is
to enhance the lifestyle of persons with cerebral palsy and similar

The
Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. Its membership
is open to students who are 13 years of age or older and/or any
adult who is willing to volunteer. The CAP has three missions: aerospace,
cadet programs, and emergency services.
AEROSPACE:
Teaches its members and community members the importance of aviation/space
travel. Each person, flyer/ non-flyer, has been affected by aerospace.
CADET
PROGRAMS:
Each cadet learns about aerospace and leadership skills. Cadets
are eligible for airplane rides and participate in encampment (held
at Fort Riley). Survival schools are also available.
EMERGENCY
SERVICES:
Cadets and Senior members participate in practice and real missions.
Missions might be looking for downed aircraft, lost children, filling
sand bags, and/or damage assessment after a disaster.

THE
PURPOSE OF C.O.P.E. IS TO:
Raise awareness for the importance of parenting and the need for
parenting education.
Encourage positive parenting skills.
Provide the community with information on available parenting resources.
Provide a forum for parent educators in the community to share information
and resources.
Promote the use of volunteers in teaching parenting skills.
Act as advocates for needed parenting education services and legislation.
C.O.P.E.
PROVIDES:
Notebooks with current (updated monthly) information concerning
over 50 parenting programs in the Manhattan community. Notebooks
available to any community, organization or business.
C.O.P.E. calendar listing in local newspaper weekly. listing includes
parenting classes, support groups, events, activities and resources,
networking forum for all who attended monthly meetings.

Community
Literacy Council was incorporated March 1987 for the purpose of
teaching reading, writing, and math to anyone who does not possess
these skills. We can help those needing to learn the ABCs of reading,
writing, and math to those studying for the G.E.D. tests. We provide
one-on-one tutoring at no cost. The Community Literacy Council is
a not-for-profit volunteer agency. All tutoring is done by volunteers.
FEE:
Books may be purchased at cost if desired ($4.00-$10.00)
ELIGIBILITY: 16 or older- not enrolled in high school, must be able
to speak/understand English. No upper age limit.

Community
Services for Aging helps older persons find answers to a wide range
of questions or problems concerning such issues as Medicare, Social
Security, Nursing Homes, Income Tax, Health Insurance, Weatherization,
Consumer Fraud, Housing and many more. Through the establishment
of a volunteer network the program provides information to contact
other agencies and to handle consumer problems older people have.
Primary objectives of the program are to train and advise local
information providers, present community education programs and
to serve as an advocate for older persons. A toll-free WATS phone
line is available for older consumers and the program volunteers
(Community Service Advisors) for assistance.

Crisis Center serves victims of family violence and sexual assault.
Services include 24-hour crisis counseling, interim housing for
the victims and their children, emergency transportation, advocacy,
education, Public and School education programs, and referral. All
services are free and confidential.
