various community services and gives cultural learning experiences
to women of all ages. Membership is by invitation only or transfer
from another chapter. There are seven local chapters.

a low-rent apartment for self-sufficient persons who are over 62
or functionally disabled. Offers recreational activities for renters
through a Residential Planning Committee. Applicants must meet certain
income guidelines. Application must be made in person.

in 1973. Provides services to developmentally disabled individuals
16 years or older.
Adult
services include (16 & older) work training, work evaluation,
sheltered employment, job placement, and residential living skills.

and residential centers.

Responsible
for the formulation and adoption of policies which guide the general
operation of the school district. Board members must operate through
statutory powers granted by the Kansas legislature and within regulations
approved by the State Board of Education. The board consists of
seven members elected at-large for four-year staggered terms in
city elections held in April of odd-numbered years. They serve without
pay. Meetings are open to the public and remarks from the public
are invited at a designated time during board meetings.
