City Commission

The City Commission is the legislative body of the city that is responsible for revenue, city budget expenditures, ordinances and other general policy functions of the city.

Voters elect a five-member commission on an at-large basis. Three commissioners are elected every two years. The two candidates receiving the largest number of votes win four year terms. The third place candidate wins a two-year term. Although the commissioners are elected at large, individual commissioners are assigned a section of the city as their primary focus.

Mayor

Each year, the Commission elects one of its members as Mayor. The Mayor presides at Commission meetings and represents the City at public functions.

Mick Wunder serves as Mayor from April 15, 2008 to April 21, 2009. His term on the City Commission expires April 2009.

Vice Mayor

Each year, the Commission elects on of its members as Vice Mayor. The Vice Mayor presides in the absence of the Mayor.

Mike Rhodes serves as Vice Mayor from April 15, 2008 to April 21, 2009. His Term on the City Commission expires in April 2009. He is the Representative for the northwest section of the City.
